Young Peoples Forum
Young People of Birmingham have a Voice and do have the Right to be Heard.
Time to work together to development that effective Dialogue and Political & Social Engagement that is lacking in Birmingham.
You have Value You are Tomorrows Leaders and Stakeholders
Make Sure Your Heard You have a right to contribute to your own Future.
The mission of the Young Peoples Charter and Forum for Birmingham is to connect the young people of Birmingham with the role of Governance. Give them a stake on the future of the City and an effective voice. Create ownership of decision that affect the youth of Birmingham by creating a structured consultation and participation process which would lead directly to the Local Council Chamber especially within the proposed Mayor's Office.
Ultimately we need to end the disenfranchisement of this group by commencing engagement of the 16 - 24 year olds, in order to develop involvement in various aspects of society and encourage involvement in Public Service.
We aim to engage all colleges and universities and schools within the City in order to develop the following:
Young People Charter
This is an agreement between the local authority and the Youth of the City in order to create a structured consultative and participative role within the Governance of the City.
Young People Forum
A City Wide structured engagement process with the youth of this city on a geographical basis feeding into a citywide young persons forum with a seat within a Mayoral cabinet. The development of this will be done during the forthcoming weeks in consultation with the Young People of Birmingham.
